In early morning, a Stellar's Sea Eagle was flying over drift ice in the ocean near Rausu, Japan.

Steller's Sea Eagles are categorized as vulnerable by the IUCN and are legally protected as a national treasure in Japan. However, they face many threats to their survival, including harsh winter conditions. I aimed to capture their majestic beauty using 3S (Slow Shutter Speed), hoping to convey both their grandeur and my wish for their continued survival on Earth. Photographed in February 2024 in Rausu, Hokkaido, Japan. Nikon Z9, Z 400mm F/2.8 TC VR S, 560mm, ISO 32, 1/13 sec at f/18.
